Stressed and Anxious Dogs?

Black Oak Boarding gives extra individual attention to our guests with separation anxiety. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for dogs to become stressed while being boarded, which can sometimes result in illness. Please make us aware of your pet’s individual needs and well-being conditions ahead of time, as well as what to do if something changes. Keep in mind, Black Oak Boarding is in business since we adore animals. We want your pet’s boarding experience to be a success for them and for you.

But Black Oak must have made my dog sick!

Stress helps animals (and individuals) adapt to circumstances. Unfortunately, when stress isn’t calmed or reduced sufficiently, the body does not have an opportunity to rest and cleanse itself of excessive hormones. The likelihood of shut down or failure of one or more body systems becomes greater as the stress builds up, particularly if there is any underlying sickness or past disease. Since the immune system quits working, even microorganisms or infections that may not typically influence your pet could now be able to cause illness. This is the reason your pet can end up sick away from home even when he/she seemed healthy when you dropped them off. In actuality, nobody can make your pet sick. At Black Oak Boarding, we prioritize cleanliness which enables us to screen the soundness of the pets left in our care. However, no boarding facility has a method for keeping a pet from becoming sick from the impacts of stress.
